Embroidery T-shirt

Yesterday I went to the supermarket and I bought a pack of 2 t-shirts for € 4,99 for my son.
One had a print on it and the other was plain white.

I decided to give a new look to the white t-shirt. The little fellow picked the design and I embroidered last night.
This was the chosen design:

It's in Bad Bird blog of Andrea Zuill.
My son saw it today morning and He loved it!

Embroidery

As per Ana Carina's request, I'll show you how and where I learnt to make embroidery.

it's simple, very simple. I just went to youtube and made a search for embroidery and wrote "embroidery stitches" and after seeing several movies, these was the most clear one.

I practiced and practiced, and it's even quite easy to learn.
Then I transfer the design on the fabric and embroider over the design.
I use cross-stiched threads.

And I've learnt just a few months ago. Nevertheless, on youtube there are many films with great tutorials on how to embroider.

How to embroider

As per Ana Carina's request, I'll show how and where I've learnt to embroider.

It's simple, really simple. I just went to youtube and wrote "embroidery stitches" and after I've seen several films, this one was the most clear to understand.

I practised and in fact it's really simple to learn.

And I've learnt just a few months ago. However, in youtube you can find lots of tutorials about embroidery.

Baby Bib

This weekend I made just this bib to a baby which is going to be born this year.

I'll offer to a friend of mine which after several unfortunate trials, is finally having her baby.

This was my first bib, and thus it did go perfect. And I only hope my friend likes it.

The duck design I took from website Painel Criativo.

And the pattern of the bib was taken from blog Chickpea Sewing Studio.

Another embroidery

I love it. I just love transforming a design into an embroidery.

This one I took from website JMD Designs.

I embroidered the bordeaux fabric and like the pink top with the butterfly, here the seams are going to be in white.

I hope it works.

Grey embroidered Bag

I've made another bag! This time is for myself and to take my lunch. But I think it didn't look so great.... I think I could have got a little better.

The pattern used was from website Burda Style. It's the Charlie bag and you can find it here. It's one the few which is free downloaded.

The fabrics used were from two long skirts which no longer fit me. So, I made a sort of recycling.

The embroidery, I did it and the design was taken from Quilter's Muse.

To take my lunch I think it'll do. I'll do it better next time, I'm sure.

Embroidered Tote Bag

During the breaks that I have of the more complicated models, (blouses, etc.), I'm doing things more simple. This time I made a tote bag as per my sister's request.

She asked me to do this bag so that she can take her lunch in it.

The fabric used was a denim not too thick and the lining was a printed canvas.

It was not hard to do, but it wasn't easy also. I made the pattern, and I used the help from Blog Sew Mama Sew, which has excelent tutorials to do this sort of bags. HERE to do the bag and HERE to sew the lining.

On the outside I have sewn a pocket and embroidered a kitten. The design is not mine, I found in the web, but I can't find from where.

As my sister asked a bag which she could close and as I'm still not very at ease with zippers, I've sewn a velcro tape in it.

I think it looks good, for a first bag. I'll try to make on for myself also.

One more embroidery

I've made another embroidery.
I chose this butterfly.

The drawing I took it from Needlecrafter.
It has a lot which are free.

And I made all inblack in a pink satin fabric.

I'm not saying yet what I'll do with it, because I still don't know if it's going to work.

Embroidered Pouch

As woman as I am, I have a plastic pouch to keep all the "papers" that I have together in my purse.
This plastic pouch I brought it from my previous job, and it already needed a replacement. I decided to do one in fabric. I used a not very thick denim and I embroidered a flower.
Here it is.

Detail of the embroidery. I found the drawing in the web, on this site.

Here is the drawing.
Close it, I put a velcro tape.

And inside, as lining, I used leftovers of the fabric that I used to do the tunic of BOWF.

Here's the inside with the "paper junk" inside it.

It was a simples and easy project to do. As the weekend was very tiring, and I was with a terrible headache, I decided to do a simple thing.

Embroidered Top

I put the shirt aside to do only on weekends. As it is my first shirt, I decided to do it with natural light and with no stress.
At the same time, and with a huge amount of white fabric that my mother gave me, I decided to do an experience: to embroider a top.
The model I already know what it was. I would use the pattern of the top which I made the summer pijama. This one, which is on the website of Burda Style. Unfortunately, the download is no longer free, (but I'll post about it some other time).

On the other hand, I'm glad I saved on my computer the pattern.

It was a model that I enjoyed doing, very easy to do. I decided that instead of the straps, I was going to put sleeves. I got inspired from the idea of a member of the website Burda Style, who made a Summer top our of this top, as you can see here.
The choice of the drawing wasn't easy. I went google and wrote "embroidery patterns". They were so many. But I lost myself over this one. Simple and pretty.
The original drawing is on this blog: Sweet William. Her name is Paula Mills, australian, her sister is an illustrator, and she got one of her sister's designs and emboidered it on canvas.
This one here.

I printed on paper.

Then I passed into a silk paper.

Afterwards I passed into the fabric.

I put it on the hoop and started to embroider!

And here is the result (with flash)

(without flash)

Details of the embroidery (in some flowers I've put beads)

Now, I only have to do is sew the blouse.
