Fixing - Part II

I was still not happy with the way my son's pant tuned out. So, I got to this brazilian blog, through Ana's blog, and I loved to seen the works that she was making in "patchcolagem". Afterwards, I did a research on the web of how to do "patchcolagem" or the "ponto caseado". And I found this:

And so, I transformed this:

Into this:
I think it's now much better!

Back to school

My son has come back to kindergarden. He has a jeans that he wore last year and he managed to get them a hole in one of the legs. No wonder... what do you expect from a 2/3 year old? Of course, that he crawls, that he plays a lot and that he tears all his clothes up.
I decidid to mend the situation and if it is to damage, might as well damage used and mended jeans than new ones.
It was my first time, and the result was not so good, but I think it got ok.
Here are the jeans and the hole.

I went to a coloring site and I chose some drawings that were simple to do the silhouette.

I chose those which seemed to me to be easier: the fish and the bear and I draw the silhouttes to transparent paper.

Then I pass the silhouette onto the fabric.

And now at this point it's where things got complicated. I made another experience in another fabric to do the thight and large stitch. And after I did the lines of the drawing. It didn't get perfect. And I think it doesn't even looks like a fish.

And hardest part and where it really gor worsen: sew it on the jeans. Maybe I should have sewed by hand, but I tried to make it in the machine and this was the result.

He now has a jeans without a hole in which he can play in the floor, play with his friends, and who knows, tear iit up again (!?)
