Next Project - Top 130 Burda

As I have only time for my sewing on the week-ends, I'll post here my next project.

A promise is a promise and I promised my sister that I would do something for her, when I feel more confortable in this sewing things.

She picked the fabric and the model.
The fabric chosen was this one:

And the model chosen was this one:

The patterns were taken from the site of Burda and they are here to free download. It seems like an easy model. My only doubt is how to sew the V neckline.

After I cut it, how do I sow it? Can somebody help me or indicate me a tutorial that can help me?

Thanks.

Change

I havve changed the blog's template. The other one was prettier, but the pictures look smuged. That is, the colors look more paled than they really are.

Now it gets "brighter"

Blouse Dots 3197

Before I go into new fabrics I started last week another blouse.

I have returned to the basic.

I decided to use the patterns of the sweater 3197 of Burda Style. I used the dark blue fabric with white dots that I used in my previous blouse. I had enough to do another one.

I cut the fabric as usual and pipped. I noticed that once again it was too large on the side seam.

So, I decided to put two ribbons in the side seam to give a fitted look. I think it was a good option.

And from the back

Now comes the hardest part: the sleeves.

New fabrics

I was yesterday at my mom's house to get somethings and she let me take a pick and her case of fabrics that she has been buying for the past years.

I brought these.

Challenge

I have just entered the blog universe of sewing and I have been already challenged.

Ana Carina has challenged me, in order to know me better.
Here we go.

What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was finishing university. I was going to have my deserved vacations and start my adventure in the working market.

Five things on my to do list:
One of them is taking my driving license (it has to be this year, for sure), the other is taking my son to Eurodisney, loose weight (one day maybe), and mainly be happy.

Food I like:
Hummmm. Don't even remind me. Snails, shrimps, etc.

Things I would do if I were a multimilionaire:
I would buy a bigger house in the center of Lisbon, my city. I would have couple of children. Travel with my son and husband. I probably would give something to my family. And maybe I would do a plastic to take the excess.

Places I lived:
As my dad was a pilot in the Air Force, he was place in several Air Force bases. When I was born we lived in Vieria de Leiria, near the base of Monterreal. Then when I was 1 year an half, we moved to Madeira until I was 2 years old. After we moved to the Azores. When I was 4 years old, we moved to Lisbon, where I lived until I bought my home with my husbanda, at the time my boyfrined, in Lisbon's surroundings.

Jobs I had:
When I finished university, I worked as a Secretary in a Lawyer's Office for 2 years and an half. Then I work for 6 years in a fashion company, as a Customer Assistante, being my Clients the owners of the stores of a Lingerie brand. For more than 6 months I've been working as Retail Assistante of one of the most known sports brand. And I love what I do!

I hope you enjoyed knowing me better.

Tunic E971 - Final Result

I finished today. Luckly I'm on holidays this week and I decided to dedicate my free time to sewing.

My son has been going to kindergarden, and so I manage to have time for myself and my things

After doing a lot of thinking on the sleeves and on this project, I decided not to waste more time on this. It is my second sewing project that I do on my own. So I think it's only natural that it doesn't come out perfect. I decided to finish it and start another one tomorrow.

I ended up by putting the darker fabric on the hem. I confess it is not perfect and probably wearing it to work wouls not be an option, but maybe going out with my husband or to go to the supermarket, or going to pick up my son at day care or when I go to the pool with him. Or mayse use it on vacatins.

Then I made the flower with the two fabrics. I linned the button.I learnt how at Burda Style HERE. And the flower also at Burda Style HERE.

I'm happy with the result. This one I can say that it was all me.

The sleeves

Are making me crazy. One was shorter than the other. So, I decided to undo everything and start all over again.

I was going to make a hem with the darker fabric, but it didn't turn out very well.

Today I found a tutorial on youtube.

Top 3197 - Final Result

Here it is!
But I can't get all the credits. I was going crazy with the neckline, so I surrender and asked my mother to fix it.
It is not perfect, my fault. But I guess it is ok.
I wore it today to go to work. I like seeing it on me.
I'm happy with the result.
